The Manager of Process Engineering leads a team of engineers to develop, implement, capital, and improvement projects across the Benjamin Moore Manufacturing network. This role is critical to the improvement and expansion of production operations. Typical projects impact quality standards, adherence to safety regulations, capacity expansion, and productivity.  Success in this role requires both strong technical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Process Engineering and Capital Agenda at Benjamin Moore
  • Balance short-term project and executional needs with maintaining focus on strategy objectives
  • At as Focal Point and Subject matter expert for all Processing Issues
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, and other corporate functions to identify processing opportunities and pathways forward.
  • Develop multi-year strategy and project plan to drive processing quality, and productivity.
  • Develop and implement “Technology Demonstrators” to build alignment and sponsorship for components of overall Processing Strategy.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to identify areas of overlap and potential integration.
  • Drive development and execution of annual processing capital spend balancing strategic and tactical needs.
  • Ensure processing projects are executed using Project Management best practices to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.
  • Hands on leadership of critical or complex projects
  • Define and document basic Engineering, Schedule, Drawing, and Communication standards for the Processing Team.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor process engineering staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring project alignment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to integrate new technologies and processes.
  • Process Development & Optimization: Design and refine paint & resin manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality. Some projects require knowledge and expertise in a Process Safety Management environment.
  • Capital Project Management: Oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring delivery of project objectives within budget & schedule constraints.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all processes & projects comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, quality and other requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply processing expertise to improve existing processes and create new processing technologies.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive process documentation, including SOPs, process flow diagrams, and technical reports.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in process engineering within the chemical, food or CPG industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing engineering projects and leading teams.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, plant layout, process optimization, and industrial automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process design (P&ID), project management, CAD tools, and data analysis.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team of engineers. Ability to collaborate and influence cross functionally in both corporate and plant environments
  • Certifications: PE and Lean certifications preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including OSHA, PSM, EPA, and NFPA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (advanced functions), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project & Microsoft Teams.

Pay Range

USD $126,200.00 - USD $147,300.00 /Yr.
