Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading manufacturer of innovative, high-quality coatings for the architectural and industrial maintenance markets. We are looking for a Technical Specialist to join our Product Evaluation team. 

In this role, you will be responsible for the application and laboratory testing of existing, new, and competitive products. The results and reports generated will aid in enhancing product performance and quality. This entry-level position requires a desire to learn, strong attention to detail, and effective communication. The role offers many opportunities for growth and development into more technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings and related products to substrates and test physical properties
• Conduct laboratory testing as part of a small team or independently
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for test methods
• Accurately document, report, analyze, and share data, observations, and learnings
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory
• Perform inspections and routine laboratory maintenance
• Participate in learning and capability-building initiatives
• Professional development through continuous learning
• Evaluate the natural weathering of coatings year-round in the outdoor test farm

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required; technical/vocational schooling or community college is a plus
• 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting
• Detail-oriented with the ability to record accurate, clear, and concise results
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Meticulous, diligent, and dedicated with a solid work ethic
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
