Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

Benjamin Moore & Co. seeks an ambitious, self-motivated individual to join our sales team. You will be accountable for supporting the sales team with:

  • In-field technical support within specific geographical territory
  • Technical specification work with site evaluation and specification/proposal writing, assistance as needed
  • Resolution of major complaints/customer concerns, and architectural and industrial product placement selling in and out of channel
  • Support regional sales director, area sales managers, territory representatives, and training implementation specialist in executing regional product training and application sessions for field sales and retailers
  • Support architectural & design representatives (ADRs) and architectural specification writers with complex specification writing, continuing education classes, and general training of architects & designers
  • Support national account representatives with technical support, specification writing, and prospecting for opportunities within a specific geographic area.

This role supports the Central Region territory, and the ideal candidate will be based within 30 miles of Carol Stream, Illinois.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ B2B paint & coating sales experience
  • Knowledge of architectural and industrial coatings, market dynamics, and application best practices
  • NACE Certified (complete or in process)
  • Specification writing proficiency
  • Working knowledge of required software programs (Microsoft Office, CRM)
  • Excellent communication, listening, and public speaking skills
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify obstacles and opportunities for success
  • Effective problem-solving, time-management, negotiating & complaint handling skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and team interaction skills
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record are a must
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to travel overnight to attend meetings, conferences, and trade shows
  • Must reside in the desired geography or be willing to relocate
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 50% to areas of coverage
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus, but not required

The salary range listed herein refers to the amount the Company is willing to pay at the time of posting. The actual salary offer will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, job location, and other relevant factors.
