The Color Rendering Specialist is responsible for producing color-rendered images that are used in our Commercial Color and Virtual Color Consulting Programs to facilitate the color selection process. This role is skilled in understanding how color and light work together to produce imagery that provides a realistic sense of how color will appear on surfaces, whether indoors or outdoors.  Collaboration with other team members to understand project specifics, timelines and other considerations is essential, as well as a highly attuned eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the flow of image rendering projects that come into the Marketing Department, whether commercially focused through the Commercial Color program or for residential customers who take part in our virtual color consultations.
  • Ability to complete projects in an accurate and efficient manner to maintain fast project turnaround times of 24-28 hours while delivering quality imagery that represents the Benjamin Moore brand in a premium manner.
  • Through an understanding of architecture and building materials, collaborate with stakeholders to address project objectives. Likewise, use feedback as needed to edit or improve on rendering submissions for the best possible results for our customers.
  • Ability to maintain files in a structure that ensures accuracy and version control.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, particularly in Photoshop.
  • Actively contribute to a fast-paced team in a positive manner.
  • Remain aware of new techniques and methods in image rendering/retouching that will benefit the quality of output through the Virtual Color Consulting and Commercial Color programs.

Qualifications

  • Background in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Photo Retouching, or Photography required with demonstrated experience in retouching with keen artistic skills and a strong eye for detail.
  • Expert level ability in Photoshop and Bridge, including high-end photo manipulation, color accuracy, and adjustments, creating paths and masks, and image sizing/cropping.
  • Excellent rendering and retouching skills allow for photographs received through our residential and commercial programs to be re-touched in proposed color schemes to aid in project visualization.
  • Mastery of color correcting and understanding how color interacts with lighting in various environments (interior/exterior).
  • Past retouching experience with a focus on architecture is a plus.
  • A team player who is collaborative, open to feedback, and takes producing quality work seriously.
