Responsibilities

Follows all safety guidelines and rules, environmental and regulatory guidelines; uses all required safety equipment.

Maintains quality and cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and company premises.

Aids in cleaning up spills, painting equipment, changing bailers, sorting/dumping paint, chipping tanks, maintaining cleanliness throughout the site and any other task deemed necessary to ensure efficient operations at either the company’s manufacturing or distribution sites. 

May assist operators with manuals tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures such as helping to manually add raw materials to a batch, loading labels, lids or cans to a line or maintenance and movement of pallets.

May assist with inventory maintenance, cycle counting, moving, or staging stock.

Ability to take verbal and written instructions from leads and managers.

Maintain cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, cleaning and performing minor maintenance to such tools.

Maintains MHE or other related equipment by checking battery, electrical charger hook-up etc.

Willingness to work and cross train in other departments as needed.

Maintains highest standards for product quality and service.

Performs other duties

Qualifications

High school Diploma or GED desired, or equivalent work experience.

Basic math skills, i.e., addition/subtraction.

Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Ability to work safely and follow SOP's.

Good interpersonal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and cleanliness.

Ability to work in a team environment and the willingness to be cross-functional.

Ability to use computer applications a plus

Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Work overtime as necessary.

 

Environment Factors and exposure throughout shift:

Frequency of physical activity throughout shift:

Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting and kneeling

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor, conveyor, vehicle, table, or overhead location

Constant standing (6-8+ hours)

Frequent lifting of 10-75 lbs. (1-8+ hours) throughout shift

Frequency of upper and lower extremity activity throughout shift:

Constant grasping with dominate hand (6-8+ hours)

Frequent fine hand manipulation, pushing, pulling and reaching above and below shoulder throughout shift.

Constant walking (6-8+ hours)

Getting onto electric Walkie riders, forklifts and aerial work

Manual lifting upwards of 70 lbs.

Ability to use Walkie Rider, Forklift trucks, Scissor Lift and other MHE
